The Chase card_name, one of our top recommended cards, has an awesome bonus of 100,000 points after a $8,000 minimum spend in the first 3 months!

Thanks for using our affiliate links within this post to help support our ad-free content if you decide to apply for any travel cards.

The previous long-standing offer was 80,000 points after $5,000 minimum spend in 3 months.

The current offer is more difficult to achieve, however, as you have to spend more to earn more points. But if you have a small business that has large expenses every month, such as inventory or supplies you need to purchase, this might be an easy way for you to earn a big chunk of Chase points!

Because the card_name earns ultimate rewards points, you can transfer its points to Southwest instantly at a 1:1 ratio to use for booking free flights. You get 1.5-2 cents of value when you use them on Southwest.

However, these points DO NOT qualify for the Southwest Companion Pass. Only credit card points earned on the Southwest cards qualify for the pass.

Why We Recommend the card_name

Southwest Priority Card

Here at Families Fly Free, we have a very specific process to help our readers learn to fly free in the simplest and quickest way possible and that can include the card_name.

A key part of that process is always holding the Southwest Airlines Companion Pass, so 1 person can always fly free with you on all Southwest flights, and then, of course, flying Southwest Airlines anywhere you want to go within the U.S. and the Caribbean using the 135,000 points you earned to secure the pass.

The Chase Ultimate Rewards-earning travel credit cards are the perfect complement to this process and for flyers of Southwest.

Here’s why:

  • Chase Ultimate Rewards points transfer instantly at a 1:1 ratio to Southwest to book free flights
  • Each Chase Ultimate Reward point is essentially worth DOUBLE if you hold the Southwest Companion Pass, because for every Chase point you earn and use to book a flight on Southwest, you can bring someone with you FREE
  • These Chase cards allow you to earn more than 1 point per $1 on many expenditures, including dining and travel (Most Southwest cards only allow you to earn 1 point per $1 unless you’re spending directly with Southwest)
  • They have HIGH bonuses after applying and meeting the minimum spend
  • Most have low annual fees

Where card_name Fits in the Plan

Chase Sapphire Preferred pool

I first recommend you earn a Southwest Companion Pass. Next, I recommend applying for a flexible personal everyday spending card, like the card_name, my FAVORITE travel credit card.

It gives you:

  • 60,000 points after a $4,000 minimum spend
  • 3X points on dining, streaming services and online grocery purchases
  • 2X points on travel
  • Low $95 annual fee

This is A LOT of points for a low annual fee that you can use to continue to fly free on Southwest.

Then, I recommend applying for an Ink Business card like the card_name and scoring its AMAZING bonus to keep your Southwest point coffers full, though you could easily reverse the card_name and the card_name, since it has the higher bonus IF you can comfortably meet the minimum spend.

Getting Approved for a Small Business Card

how to start a travel blog

Nearly anyone can qualify for a small business card so don’t despair if you don’t have an “official” business! Any sort of side income can be used to earn a business card, even if it’s just as a sole proprietor using your social security number.

This can be activities like…

  • selling used furniture on Facebook Marketplace or books on eBay
  • walking dogs
  • babysitting
  • freelancing
  • selling timeshare points
  • selling Avon
  • owning rental property, etc.

Could you start doing any of these things if you aren’t already?

All that is required is the “intention” to earn a profit with your small business to be eligible for a small business card.

Additionally, you can operate your business using your own name and social security number, so there’s no need to have an “official” LLC or corporation.

I do recommend applying for a FREE EIN number from the IRS, which provides the information that Chase usually wants to see if you’re applying for a business card.

This includes your name and business address together on an official document, even if it’s just your name and your personal address!  Often you can do this online and email or fax them a PDF or print-out with the information.

KEY TIP for Maximizing the card_name

One thing many people don’t realize about this card is that you can hold an card_name — and EARN THE BONUS — for MULTIPLE BUSINESSES.

So not only can you earn bonus points once, you could potentially earn that amount for EACH business you have. AMAZING!

Do you hold any Chase Ultimate Rewards earning cards? Are you considering the card_name?
