The IHG cards are a great option if you have your eye on a specific IHG property, like my favorite Kimpton Seafire on Grand Cayman that many Secrets of a Travel Journalist Club members have visited on my recommendation.
The card_name minimum spend is not far from the signup_bonus_spend_amount required for card_name, which lets you bonus_miles, so if you’re specifically looking for an IHG property, this is the better option, as it’s the highest possible number of points you could earn in one big chunk.
This card DOES NOT count toward Chase’s 5/24 rule. It also has a free anniversary night and you get the 4th night free when you book 3 nights in points.
