In a conference call with investors in 2018, Southwest Airlines CEO Gary Kelly said the airline has its eye on even more international destinations.
According to CNBC, Kelly said “there are as many as 50 other destinations in North America and parts of South America that [the airline] could serve.” But he added, “Not all next year. It may take us 25 years.”
CNBC suggested destinations could include Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru where tourism is increasing. Plus, it make sense that they already serve destinations in Central America like Costa Rica, that South American would be an easier add.
There have also been rumors about Southwest and Canada.
