Here is a recent reader question I received that others may also be wondering!

Can Two People Earn Points Toward One Southwest Companion Pass?

The actual question I received was:

Once my spouse and I both open Southwest credit cards to earn points, how do we link both of them to one Rapid Rewards account?

The answer:

Unfortunately, you can’t link both of your credit card accounts to one Rapid Rewards account. Each individual’s credit cards will need to post to their own Rapid Rewards account and earn points toward their own Southwest Companion Pass.
You should pick one person you want to earn the pass and focus on that person earning all of the qualifying points. You CAN transfer points from one account to the other, but it costs to do so, and those points WILL NOT qualify for the Companion Pass, so that doesn’t help.
You could BOTH earn the Companion Pass if you want (if you have two kids, parents or friends you could each bring along with you on trips), but keep in mind that you won’t be able to earn the credit card bonus points again for 24 months after earning them (you’d have to cancel the cards and re-open).
That’s why it’s often best to have one spouse earn the pass for two years and then have the other earn the pass for the next two years.
